Chandrayaan-2

Chandrayaan-2 launched aboard GSLV Mk III on a mission to study the Moon from orbit and attempt India's first soft landing, carrying an orbiter, the Vikram lander, and the Pragyan rover together.

The orbiter entered lunar orbit successfully and continues to return valuable science data years later. Vikram's landing attempt lost contact in the final phase of descent and did not survive touchdown — a setback that directly shaped the redesign behind Chandrayaan-3's later success.
