August 23, 2023 — Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander touched down near the Moon's south pole, a first for any nation.January 2024 — Aditya-L1 entered its halo orbit around the Sun–Earth L1 point, beginning continuous solar observation.January 2025 — ISRO achieved its first in-space docking with the SpaDeX mission, joining a select group of spacefaring nations.August 15, 1969 — ISRO was founded under Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, widely regarded as the father of the Indian space programme.April 19, 1975 — Aryabhata, India's first satellite, launched from the Soviet Union — the start of India's journey to space.August 23 is now National Space Day in India, declared by PM Modi to mark the Vikram lander's touchdown — 'Touching Lives while Touching the Moon.'July 30, 2025 — GSLV-F16 launched NISAR, a joint ISRO–NASA Earth-observation satellite, into orbit from Sriharikota.

A commercial launch for AST SpaceMobile (USA) — LVM3 placed the 6,100 kg BlueBird Block-2 satellite into low Earth orbit, the largest commercial communications satellite it has flown.
