Chandrayaan-3

Chandrayaan-3 was built to finish what Chandrayaan-2 couldn't: a safe, soft landing on the Moon. Its Vikram lander carried the Pragyan rover, which explored the lunar surface and returned data on its composition after touchdown.

On August 23, 2023, Vikram landed near the Moon's south pole — a first for any nation, and only the fourth successful soft lunar landing by any space agency. The Government of India later declared August 23 as National Space Day in commemoration.
